Description:
Five comedic illustrations of popular sayings (some of them from the Bible).
0:39 - He who laughs last, laughs best. (an old saying, first mentioned in the 1546 English book "The Proverbs of John Heywood")
1:47 - Whoever exalts himself will be humbled. (Matthew 23:12)
2:57 - Bribes blind the eyes of the wise. (Deuteronomy 16:19)
3:46 - The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame. (Proverbs 3:35)
4:46 - The salvation of the drowning must be the work of the drowning themselves. (parody on Marx's famous saying "The emancipation of the workers must be the work of the workers themselves.", from the 1928 novel "The Twelve Chairs", slightly rephrased here, and also used in the famous 1971 film adaptation)
