Description:

A kookor (a traditional Kyrgyz leather drinking container) ends up in the modern world, a vessel out of time.

The film's character is literally a hero from a dump, from a trash heap. The kookor, a traditional Kyrgyz household item, symbolizes the good old days with their wisdom, firm values and ideas of true beauty. It collides with modernity; with the shine of metal, bright labels, extravagance and pettiness. Modern vessels get acquainted with it, and one vase even shows it a little kindness. When the vase later gets unceremoniously "dumped", and is about to be swept up and thrown in the trash, the kookor uses some of its remaining ancient life-giving force to save the vase's life, but now the vase no longer looks "modern". Modern society forces both of them to stop being "alive" and become mere souvenirs.

This was Vyacheslav Belov's final film at the Kyrgyzfilm studio. His next film would be directed at Kyrgyztelefilm.
