This film is part of the Sports Teams "Meteor" and "Pennant" series.

A hockey match between arrogant professionals and a friendly local amateur team.

One of the best examples of the Soviet "Disney-style" school of animation, this won a number of awards and was popular with the public.

There are only a few words in the film - the posters advertising a match between the (red) "Meteor" team and the (blue, local) "Vympel" team. And also the traditional hockey chant "Shaybu! Shaybu!" which translates to "(Get) the puck!".

The first video above is a new 24fps HD scan, though the colours may be too bright. The second video (25fps) comes from Soyuzmultfilm's channel, and was uploaded in the wrong aspect ratio (you can tell by the circle at the very beginning). It is corrected on this website, but may still be a bit off.
