Description:
A little polar bear makes friends with a boy.
Two films were made in 1969 and 1970, co-directed by Vladimir Popov and Vladimir Pekar. A modern "3rd film" (Умка на ёлке) was released in 2019, directed by Aleksandr Vorobyov and based on a 1977 story by the original writer, which has received praise for its faithful visuals but a more mixed reception for its content.
Also, the 2006 Russian animated feature "Elka" has the character of Umka in a secondary role as the main character's grandfather.
