>Also on 4chan.org/co/ there were sometimes threads up about soviet or foreign cartoons and someone also recommended me this site when I asked where I can watch multfilms, but by that time I already knew about this site.
Interesting. I never visit /co, so it wasn't me. :) (mostly visit /g these days, when I go there. You may have noticed that the commenting system has some similarities)

>I just want to thank every one who is contributing to this site and I think that what you are doing is fantastic, opening up a whole new world for non russian speakers and also providing me with a learning resource.
You're welcome. :) I noticed that a lot of the work that people were putting in to translate these films was being undone by Youtube deleting videos and banning channels, so I had the idea to create a more permanent archive.

Do you think I should I create a more traditional discussion forum (or forums) so people have a place to talk about the site and its contents outside of PMs and film discussion pages? The commenting system already exists...

>Also are there any plans to expand the realm of this site beyond animation from the (former) soviet area?
No plans to expand the topic of this one, but there's a plan to create another (related) site that will be more of a free-for-all and not thematically constrained in what the videos can be about. Like the DIY page on this one, but with the ability to save, share, and edit/fork it. As little moderation as I can get away with. Need to think it through carefully, though. Meanwhile, there are a number of important features I still need to add to this site.

Sure, I added it in. Why not? To avoid confusion (I think...) I moved the subtitles that only translate the Geese cartoon to the 2nd video only (so that people don't wonder why the 1st two films are not translated in most languages).

Not sure if it's worth adding, but the Geese film also has a Croatian translation.

Also are there any plans to expand the realm of this site beyond animation from the (former) soviet area? Like VΓla AmΓ‘lka (czech) or Film pod strasznym tytuΕ‚em (polisch)?

>How'd you happen to find the site, by the way?
one day I stumbled upon the youtube channel by Eus347 while I was watching or searching for russian animations and he linked this site in his channel description. I can still remember that I was upset when his then youtube channel got terminated, I am glad that the one now is going fine. Also on 4chan.org/co/ there were sometimes threads up about soviet or foreign cartoons and someone also recommended me this site when I asked where I can watch multfilms, but by that time I already knew about this site.

>There's also an English translation of that film and its sequel that should appear on the site soonish
Oh, I am glad to hear that. I found english subs on youtube, but the video quality of those are poor

I just want to thank every one who is contributing to this site and I think that what you are doing is fantastic, opening up a whole new world for non russian speakers and also providing me with a learning resource.

The Russian subs? Yes, here and here. There's also an English translation of that film and its sequel that should appear on the site soonish (I just wanted to improve it a bit).

Thank you so much for adding subtitles to that awesome series! I have watched some episodes many times while often understanding very little, since my russian is at a beginners level. That's why I am glad that there are almost always also russian subs alongside the english ones, so i can read along to understand the spoken word better.

I've added subtitles for Italian and Arabic, and hopefully there aren't too many mistakes. The song "Antoshka" has also been translated into Croatian, Turkish and German (however, the 2nd verse of the German translation would need to be retranslated; it prioritizes the rhyme and does not mention an accordion, which wouldn't work as a translation for the cartoon).

I understand now why there existed no decent English translation of this one for so long! It was really difficult. So much of the Russian text uses turns of phrase that have no direct English equivalents. If the translation nevertheless seems like it flows smoothly to people, I will be glad.

It wasn't "Magia Russica", was it?
