It premiered at the Open Russian Festival for Animated Film in Suzdal in 2004. Film critic Larisa Malyukova wrote shortly after the festival:

The quality of current children's films is most vividly illustrated by Anna Kolozyan's innocuous three-minute film "Mouse.RU" [...] The film earns a solid C, as if the creators themselves were determined to produce a satisfactory work. It's a story about the friendship between a real mouse and a computer mouse. There are no hidden meanings, no hints of humor. The visuals—backgrounds, movements, characters—are satisfactory, nothing more. The art is decent enough, but modest, without any flourishes. There's little imagination, directorial discoveries, or tear-jerking gags. The script is clear, but very simple, lacking any vital ideological energy.
