Description:

About the attitude of children towards elderly people and about a magic umbrella which changed the ordinary world into a fairy tale.

Directed by Lev Michin. Milchin was involved with puppet animation only for a short time (1967-1970). Though he had a couple of others stints as art director of puppet animations, this was the only one he directed. Milchin (1920-1987) had a long career at Soyuzmultfilm, where he worked from 1945 until 1957 as art director with Ivan Ivanov-Vano, the Brumberg sisters and Mihail Tsehanovskiy. From 1957 until 1962 he worked at Mosfilm, then returned to Soyuzmultfilm as director and art-director until the end of his career. He was also involved in regular filming and as teacher at the VGIK film school, or film university as per its status in Russia.
