Grishkin was a very messy boy. He did not spare his things, scattering them everywhere, breaking and spoiling them. Grishkin's books got tired of this treatment, especially because they have suffered due to dirt, ink and torn pages. Will the boy bring them back and become a better owner?

The film was originally presented in Russian, but the interesting thing is, all the books and signs are cleverly used in Ukrainian, something very rare during the Soviet era. After Ukraine regained independence, a Ukrainian version appeared, but it did not really gain attention.
