An animated version of Dziga Vertov's 1920s political caricatures that appeared in the "Pravda" newspaper.

Dziga Vertov, as well as being a pioneering early Soviet documentary avant-garde filmmaker, also created the first Soviet animated film, which was made in 1923 and does not survive. The following year, he created this one, which does. Some more words about the history and social background can be read here.

The end of the movie features all the "toys" getting into the formation of a holiday tree.
