This film is part of the Optical Illusion series.

Description:

An adult tries to get a child to submit to his two-dimensional worldview. 1st film of the "Optical Illusion" trilogy.

Wordless except for the definition of autism given 16 seconds in: "a weakening of the connections between consciousness and reality, isolation from the outside world. Sometimes accompanied by photophobia".

Despite this being the first film of Aynutdinov's trilogy to be began, and his first course-work at VGIK, he decided to defend his diploma with the second film ("Amentia") instead, and this first film was only finished two years later.

In Aynutdinov's own words, it is about the 1960s (when he himself was a school-age child) and "the relationship between the child and society".
