Description:
Based on Frenchman Édouard René de Laboulaye's tale, the film tells of the fabulous adventures of rough-hewn lumberjack Zerbino and beautiful princess Allele, and their wonderful love.
This was the last Brumberg animation sticking to the social-realism art style. One can recognise it in the realistic body proportions of the depicted lead characters in the film.
Won an award at Annecy, 1960.
The video (29:18) is a bit horizontally squished. There's another video online (29:09) that has nicer colours, but it can't be put embedded here at the moment.
