Description:

A boy living in the far north confronts a polar bear, and gets on the bad side of his tribe's shaman.

Several different versions exist of this film. The first video above has a live "native"-style soundtrack with flute and drums, and hardcoded yellow English subtitles (not always the most accurate, hence they have been corrected on this site).

Another version has a newly-composed electronic score made by Moscow-based producer Lapti in 2016 - this one has quite good image quality, and hardcoded English subtitles (the same translation).

Yet another version is by "Фёдор Зайцев" who removed the hardcoded English subs. This one has frames that bleed into each other, and a musical score that somewhat imitates the first one, but is not played live and is not as good.

Another version (not currently on Youtube, it seems) has piano music played and composed by Richard Siedhoff, which is similar to how the film would have been seen at the time (though, of course, it was not with this particular music). The frame rate of this version is much slower than the others (approx. 18-19 fps), which is historically accurate, hence it is ~9:07 long while the others are ~7 minutes. It also has quite good image quality.

The film can also be viewed and downloaded in good quality but without music at culture.ru.
