Description:
A traditional Georgian wedding ceremony (of two jays) is interrupted by a mean-spirited crow and a hungry fox. Based on the story by Vazha Pshavela.
The name is an allusion to the Georgian expression "happy as a jay". Scenes from this animated film were later re-used in the 1984 live-action film with the same name.
The first video above is the Russian version (though with songs in Georgian), scanned from Betacam by the RuTracker animation scanning project in May 2024. The next two videos are the original Georgian version. Unfortunately, only very poor video copies of the Georgian version seem to survive. One of the two "Georgian" videos is an attempt at "restoration", but has plenty of its own flaws (including a few minor cuts throughout, hence why there are two sets of subtitles).
