Description:

All food starts to seem tasteless to a king, but a resourceful peasant cures him. Based on an Armenian folk tale. There are some grizzly scenes.

Please note, the Youtube video above CAN be watched, despite displaying a "video not found" preview image.

Noticeably less child-friendly than the other animated films the director was making at the same time (that are much more famous, to this day), this one seems to have been intended just for the Armenian audience, at least initially. The Armenian version was released in 1984, and the Russian one (with Saakyants's friend, director/actor Garri Bardin doing the voice acting) apparently only in 1986. Only the Armenian one is currently on Youtube, but the Russian one can be found elsewhere online if one searches for the title.

There are subtitles available for both the Armenian and the Russian version (check the filename). However, they are translated from the Russian version, so they do not fully correspond to the text of the Armenian one, as there are a few differences. Any corrections from Armenian speakers would be appreciated. Also, in a few places the words could not be made out (especially at 1:13).
