Description:
A cockerel, hedgehog, frog and fly find a cart in the woods with differently-sized wheels and make many useful things out of them. Based on the children's story by Vladimir Suteyev.
The original story, with the author's illustrations, can be read here (in Russian). It seems to have first been published in 1957.
The first video above is sharper and in the original frame rate, while the second video is in the slightly-faster TV frame rate but has somewhat nicer colours.

I like the story and the film.
But I am annoyed by the art style in Amalrik's post-1950s films (including this one) where everyone's legs (including those of birds) are human-shaped. Birds' "knees" should bend the other way!
