Description:
A father and son try to figure out why a music box does not work. Based Vladimir Odoyevsky's story "The Town in the Snuff Box".
The original story by Odoyevsky was written in 1834 and can be read here (in Russian) and here (in English). An important difference is that in the original story, the spring is the most important part of the music box.
The visual style was inspired by the Beatles' animation in the film Yellow Submarine (1968).
What's also special about this cartoon is that it is one of the first of the many that started to appear on television in the mid-1970s USSR that used synthesizer and electronic music .
