A mermaid saves the life of a prince and falls in love with him. Based closely on the 1837 story by the Danish writer H.C. Andersen.

Unlike some more famous filmed versions, this one sticks to Andersen's original ending.

The above video runs 2 minutes faster than it did in theatres (due to the slightly faster PAL TV frame rate).
