Description:
One of the stories about the idealistic knight Don Quixote and his squire Sancho Panza. Based on the 1922 play by Lunacharsky and the 17th-century Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes.
Without dialogue except for the introductory text.
The 1922 play can be read here (in Russian).
Of the above videos, the first is the Russian version. The second has better colours, but the text has been replaced by English text, and hard-subs added.

The main part of this film has no dialogue - probably to help with "international appeal". But even though I found it possible to follow the story if I watched carefully, even though I was unfamiliar with the world, it did take a major effort... and I think the film would have been stronger and more popular with viewers if characters were allowed to talk in the normal way.
