Description:
The Tsar appoints a new governor for the town of Idiotville.
A political satire based on a chapter of the novel The History of a Town (1870) by M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin. This film was completely overlooked at the time of its release, but since the director's death has been considered an overlooked gem by film critics.
The first video has better image quality but some French over the image. The second video is a fan-restoration that removes the French subtitles.
