Description:
In winter, the Hare builds a house of bast, while the Fox constructs her house from ice. In spring, the Fox's house melts and she takes over the Hare's home. Based on the Russian folk tale.
The cartoon changes the ending of the original fairy tale in that all the animals that Hare asks for help eventually contribute to driving the fox out. Originally, the others, despite their power, are scared off by the Fox, and only the small yet courageous Rooster actually of any use. The original moral is thus diluted in this version.
The video above is a restoration by Soyuzmultfilm released in May 2025.
