Description:
Based around several poems of Vladimir Mayakovsky about the bright Soviet Future.
In the subtitles, lines that start with * were written by screenwriter A. Galich "in the style of" Mayakovsky, rather than by the poet himself.
This was the first Soviet film that used cutout or puppet animation to be released in widescreen.
Boyarskiy was for many years the sole Artistic director of the Soyuzmultfilm puppet association. The man behind Yuriy Norshteyn and the international success of the puppet association. He was pushed out in 1979 by Soyuzmultfilm management, and followed up Ivanov-Vano as animation professor at VGIK. He left remarkable memoirs.
The first video link is better-quality and in the original frame rate (24fps), while the second is 25fps.
