Description:

Cipollino the Onion Boy fights the unjust treatment of his fellow vegetable townsfolk by the fruit royalty (Prince Lemon and the overly proud Lord Tomato) in the garden kingdom.

This was, in a way, the final collaboration between Boris Dyozhkin and Mstislav Pashchenko. The screenplay was written by Pashchenko, but he died before the film entered production, and his collaborator Dyozhkin helmed the project without him. Pashchenko's absence likely resulted in the final film having minimalistic backgrounds and little going on outside of the "main action" (Dyozhkin's strength was always in physical character animation and rhythm, and he paid little attention to art direction and fine detail, which had been one of Pashchenko's strengths).

The 2nd video link is in the original frame rate and has a slightly better image, but the opening is shortened a little bit (so that the subtitles are out of sync right at the beginning).
